|
Customers' Ideas Become Creative Projects @ Paul's Antiques |
The terrific craftful-ness of our cherished customers becomes creative projects at Paul's Antiques. The replaced legs of an old teak Balinese coffee table custom re-made into a dining table for a customer with 'an eye for design' were fashioned into candle stands additionally using bits of wood from our scrap pile in the yard for sturdy, rustic bases. And an "old-new" art-deco display cabinet from Paul's Antiques displays a customer's old photographs beneath a lovely painting bringing fond remembrances against a garden setting. MORE examples of creative refurbishing are in the making, every day @ Paul's Antiques.

| Custom-Made Console TV Stand with Removable Side Tables |
|
Creative and Functional Custom-Made Solid Reclaimed Teak Wood Set from Our Workshop |
Murray and Angela D.'s Bangkok apartment isn't large enough to accomodate a long TV stand. So together with Angela (of Paul's Antiques) they crafted a both aesthetic and functional design of a center part Console TV stand extendable by twin sidetables which will be used as bedside tables until they relocate. The creative Chinese-Burmese altar table influenced design (legs and top) and our workshop staff's superior craftsmanship produces unique pieces that will last a lifetime! |

| Paul's Antiques Furniture Featured in Opera Siam's Tosca |
|
Our Furniture Lends Colonial-Indochine Charm to the Widely Acclaimed Performance |
Paul's Antiques furniture was featured in the Second Act of Opera Siam's provocative production of Puccini's "Tosca", January 26-27, 2011 at the Thailand Cultural Centre. Over 25 pieces of Paul's Antiques' furniture lent themselves exquisitely to the colonial-Indochine makeover envisoned by Director, Stefan Sanchez. The star-studded production with the participation of the Siam Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of maestro Somtow Sucharitkul is burnishing Bangkok's reputation as a regional arts center. We are proud to have contributed.

| Art-Deco Bookcase Sold Today |
|
Very Rare Art-Deco Display/Chest of Drawers from Burma Sold Today |
A Paul's Antiques favorite piece was sold today. It is a very rare and collectible teak-wood display/chest of drawers from Burma dating from the Art-Deco period. It is all original, including the hardware. It's handles have a "skyscraper" motif (think Empire State Building), which is very exemplary of that period. The customer will not take delivery until the beginning of July (2010) so there is still time to come by the shop and see the piece before it goes. It will be missed. |
